Skip a step as it running

We want to be able to skip a running step and just move on to the next step. The use case for this is to break glass and try to push a deployment out as fast as possible without having to change our circleCI config. We may just want to push out some already verified and approved changes without going through all of our steps. We want this to be a manual break glass option that gets logged somewhere for auditing purposes.

Skipping steps in CircleCI isn’t built in by default, but you could handle this by adding a manual approval job that sets a parameter or environment variable allowing later steps to google baseball be conditionally skipped. That way, the action is explicitly triggered, logged, and auditable. It keeps your config unchanged while still giving you a safe, controlled way to fast-track deployments when needed.

Quite a cool idea. Why not do it with geometry dash jump ?

I completely understand the need for a manual "break glass" option to expedite deployments in CircleCI. It reminds me of my experience with block breaker, where quick decisions can lead to significant outcomes. Having a way to push verified changes without going through all the steps would definitely streamline our process while maintaining necessary logs for auditing. This flexibility could really enhance our deployment efficiency!
